Artist Statement

As a pilot, photographer and artist, I create images to evoke a spirit of place.
With the perspective from above, I offer a sense of the beauty, breadth and interconnection of earth, sea and sky. The patterns and shapes from the aerial view – not seen from the land - come with surprise and delight. As I move through the air with my camera and aircraft, I capture the flow, color and depth of coastlines, marshes, rivers and land with their unique meetings and forms. My images welcome you to landscapes of ever-changing beauty and even valuable lessons, showcasing nature’s ways.
Through my fine art aerial photography, I aim to inspire an awareness of the beauty and fragility of our earth so to honor its significance, meaning and long -term preservation.
