Artists' Statement
Following in the plein air tradition of painting the landscape from life, a group of South Shore artists gather together every summer at a historic Back Cove farmhouse in Maine. In their own individual stye, they each capture the unique beaty of the Maine landscape.
Reflecting their varied careers as art instructors, painters and designers, they offer their own unique perspective and vision to their interpretation of Mid-Coast Maine, from the dramatic shores of Pemaquid Point to the light filled beauty of Christmas Cove. The camaraderie of painting together combined with their mutual love of the immediacy of the outdoor, on location painting keeps this group of painters returning year after year to this much-loved location along the Maine Coast.
